The public ticket office is now open!
03/01/2017 (15:31 00)
Initially reserved exclusively for French Athletics Federation members, the ticket office for the European Team Championships Super League is now also open to the general public. In addition to the 3-day pack on offer, it is possible to purchase one-day seats for the competition, which will run from 23 to 25 June at the Metropole Européenne de Lille stadium, northern France.
A major new feature this year: numerous events will be held on the Friday, prior to the fireworks display on Saturday and Sunday. Traditionally, Friday was the sole realm of the 100m B, enabling those athletes participating in relay races to compete in an individual event. This year, the first day will be dedicated to all the sprinting event series, up to an including the lap of the track (100m, 200m, 400m, 100m and 110m hurdles, 400m hurdles), as well as the 100m B and 4x400m B. It will also
include the regional events (long jump and high jump), enabling athletes from the Hauts-de-France region to really show what they’re made of.
Towards greater equity
Up till now, the sprint events have been organised during the European Team Championship Super League in the form of two direct-entry finals, with a performance-based scratch ranking grouping together both races so as to decide between the representatives from the twelve competing countries. With the appearance of series in this latest formula, final rounds will be organised with a qualifying lap. This modification to the rules will result in a fairer competition for all the countries involved: Byelorussia, Czech
Republic, France, Germany, Greece, Holland, Italy, Poland, Spain, Russia (subject to its reintegration by the IAAF), UK and the Ukraine.
Great news for spectators: seats for Friday are on sale at a special rate of €5. The perfect opportunity to witness debut performances in the competition by top French sprinters like Christophe Lemaitre and Jimmy Vicaut… all for just a token fee.
